Julie martin makeup's philosophy is directed to women who wish to enhance their appearance with natural looking makeup that complements their many different styles, backgrounds, and skin types.

Our origins

Julie Martin
founder, makeup artist, educator

Julie has been active in the fashion/cosmetic industry for more than 35 years. After leaving the social services industry she opened up a clothing store in her early 20's always loving fashion. Later she progressed into the beauty industry which she found her passion in. Julie has worked as a cosmetic executive for companies, i.e., Dayton's, Herbergers, Prescriptives, Revlon, Sephora and Regis Corp. In 1994 she founded one of the largest makeup artist agencies in Southern California. Her credentials include movies, print, videos, runway, special events such as weddings and graduation photos and individual consultations. She is well-known and lauded for her patient and understanding approach to makeup application and education to both novices and professionals. Julie’s 10 Steps to Your Beautiful Face™ is her trademarked technique that is used each and every time she applies makeup, whether it is on herself or others. Julie believes that all women, of all ages, can be beautiful, both inside and out, every day.

Julie has resided in the Minneapolis area since 1999. In addition to her responsibilities as CEO and Creative Director for her makeup line, she is a working makeup artist for several high-profile clients in the Twin Cities. Her credentials include an Oscar-winning movie, makeup for celebrity athletes, print, makeup trend videos, runway, underwater photo shoots, undercover makeup, special events such as weddings, graduation photos, and individual consultations. She has worked with Regis for over a decade, headshots for Target Executives, United Health Care, Buffalo Wild Wings, and many more. She has also worked as a model in commercials for Medica and US Bank.
